Blackboard Course Template
Organizing Your Course
Intentionally designed course organization can benefit both instructors and students. Ensuring clarity and consistency throughout an online course will help students to navigate the digital learning environment more seamlessly, allowing both the instructor and the students to focus on what is most important, the learning.
A well-organized course creates intuitive navigation of the path through learning activities and assessments. Though every course is unique, there are some organizational strategies that can be applied to any course in order to form a foundation for effective course organization.
We have crafted a course template for faculty, so you do not need to start from scratch! It includes a basic modular course structure and provides templates for course communication, campus resources, and modular/weekly introductions and to-do lists for students. Contact the OLAP team at olap@hpu.edu if you would like us to put a copy of the template into your Blackboard course shell.
