HPU IS COMMITTED TO making a private college education accessible and affordable for FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS FROm hawai'i.
Stay in Hawai‘i and earn your undergraduate degree at Hawaiʻi Pacific University. HPU is furthering our commitment to our community by offering a Guaranteed Scholarship and Admission Program (GSAP). A personalized private college education can be affordable and accessible for students from Hawaiʻi.
High school seniors attending a Hawai‘i high school with anticipated graduation in 2025 may qualify for guaranteed admission and at minimum, a $15,000 annual tuition scholarship (scholarship is renewable for 3 additional years). Students with demonstrated financial need may also receive additional financial aid.
Qualifications:
- Submission of a complete Fall 2025 admission application for a bachelor's degree program by January 15, 2025.
- Anticipated graduation from an accredited Hawai‘i high school in 2025.
- Minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) through the end of junior year.
- Anticipate completing the following high school core courses:
- 4 years of English
- 3 years of social sciences
- 3 years of natural science
- 3 years of mathematics
- Have no disciplinary violations.
Program Benefits:
- Completed applications received by January 15, 2025 will receive admission notification no later than February 15, 2025.
- All students admitted under the GSAP will receive at minimum a $15,000 merit scholarship.
- All students admitted under the GSAP also receive:
- Priority financial aid awarding if the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is also submitted to HPU by January 15, 2025.
- Special HPU enrollment deposit gift if you commit to HPU by May 1, 2025.
- Priority registration for Fall 2025 classes.
- Early access to the housing application to ensure first choice accommodations.
- $500 Visit Grant for attending an in-person campus tour or Preview Day program.
Additional Terms and Conditions:
- Annual tuition scholarship is renewable. Award is divided between fall/spring semesters towards the completion of an undergraduate bachelor's degree. Maximum eight consecutive semesters (fall/spring).
- The Guaranteed Scholarship and Admission Program is a pilot program offered by HPU for incoming undergraduate first-time, full-time freshmen admitted and enrolled at HPU (main-campus) in the Fall of 2025. HPU will continue this scholarship commitment for each of four years for first-time, full-time freshmen entering in the Fall of 2025 or whatever shorter period of time that the student is enrolled as an undergraduate on a full-time basis prior to graduation.
- HPU retains the right to determine whether to continue this program for any other incoming freshmen class. If so, HPU may elect to offer the program on the same or different terms and conditions for any other class, without further notice.
