BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Gleaton is a doctoral prepared Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been working at HPU since 2023, starting as an Adjunct Professor. She began fulltime as an Assistant Professor in 2025. Prior to that she has worked in academia for the past 8 years, graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. Having almost 2 decades in direct patient care she is qualified to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions across the entire lifespan. Her experiences include providing care in inpatient and outpatient settings, chronic disease management, telemedicine, pediatrics, acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, nurse management, nurse education, and utilization review specialist.

 

TEACHING INTERESTS: My areas of teaching interest include Family Medicine, Nursing Leadership, and Community Health.  My dissertation topic was related to Improving Medication Reconciliation including use of a Pictorial Medication Guide to Address Health Literacy.
