Dr. Collazo-Vargas is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Hawaii Pacific University. Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Collazo-Vargas completed her undergraduate degree in Humanities at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras and her Master’s in public health at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Dr. Collazo-Vargas then pursued a PhD in Health Behavior from Indiana University where she focused her research on sexual health. Specifically, her scholarly interests include women’s sexuality, sexual violence prevention, Latina women, minority women’s health, substance abuse prevention and sexual health through the lifespan. During her free time, Dr. Collazo-Vargas likes to enjoy time with her family, read, paint, walk and enjoy a good movie.
