Kathryn Nakahara

Katie Nakahara is a doctoral candidate at Chaminade University (ABD) with a strong foundation in elementary education. She holds a Master of Education in Teaching from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Hawaii Pacific University. As a former DOE teacher, she gained valuable experience in general education and inclusive classrooms. She has also served as a substitute teacher, part-time teacher, and an administrative assistant in education, providing her with a well-rounded understanding of the educational landscape. Katie has a strong commitment to Teacher Education, having lectured and mentored pre-service teachers at the University of Hawaii West Oahu and Leeward Community College (Career and Technical Education Program). She is an active member of the Hawaii Council of Teachers of Mathematics, currently serving as the Elementary Director.
