HPU offers two ways to earn your MBA with our MBA+ and MBA Accelerated programs.

After you complete your first semester, you can specialize your MBA with a Graduate Certificate. Our MBA+ program allows you to add an HPU Graduate Certificate to get a deep dive into an area of emphasis. Coursework will also count concurrently toward your MBA elective requirement. Specialize your degree with courses ranging from Business Analytics to Nonprofit Management.

Or choose to complete your degree faster with our MBA Accelerated program. A 32-credit program, with flexible course options offered in accelerated 8-week terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GRE or GMAT is recommended but not mandatory for programs Beacon Education offers applicants in China. 

Your diploma and transcripts will not indicate that the degree is completed online. The diploma and transcripts will be identical to Hawaiʻi Pacific University students who complete their studies on-campus. 

Yes, it is possible to transfer from the Mandarin online MBA program to the on-campus MBA program at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU). Here's what you need to know: 

  • Timing: You can apply to transfer before the start of a new semester. 
  • Process: You will need to apply to HPU for the on-campus MBA program at hpu.edu/apply. 
  • Visa: After admission, international students applying to study in Hawai'i are also required to obtain a U.S. (United States) visa, which includes submitting a graduate financial guarantee. You can find more information on F-1 student visas and HPU’s Statement of Financial Support at hpu.edu/OISS. 
  • Planning: Ensure you allow enough time for the application process, visa application, and travel arrangements. 

HPU offers graduate students enrolled in on-campus degree programs, housing options on-campus and areas near our Downtown Honolulu campus. 

The Mandarin online MBA program is flexible, and the accelerated program can be completed in as little as 12 months with full-time enrollment.  

You have 7 years from the first term of enrollment to complete your Mandarin online MBA.  

Yes, OPT is available if you  

  • Complete your program on campus 
  • Maintain F-1 status for at least one full academic year 
  • Meet all OPT eligibility criteria

Yes, you can apply for other graduate degrees, including doctorate programs, at HPU. It is a separate process through the university's Office of Graduate Admission, and Beacon can connect you with the graduate admission team. 

Yes, as a student at HPU under the Beacon Education program, you will have access to resources consistent with other online learners at the University.
