Shark Bundle

Shark Bundle

Affordable and convenient access to required textbooks and course materials for students is why HPU and Barnes & Noble launched the Shark Bundle rental program. Students will pay $25.75 per credit hour* to get all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and electronic book versions before the first day of Fall 2022 semester classes. The average student is estimated to save as much as $300 on textbooks for a semester.

Students have the option to opt-out of this program within the first week of the Fall Semester.  Deadline to opt-out for any of the Fall terms was 5:59pm (HST) on Monday, 9/5/22. Opting out means you will not receive access to your required course materials in a convenient package at a discounted rate for all Fall terms.  For students only enrolled in the Fall 8b term you can request to opt out by emailing SM8094@bncollege.com.  Please be sure to include your HPU ID#, your HPU email address, and reason for request.  Deadline to submit your request for the Fall 8b term is Tuesday, 11/1/22.

Ch. 31 or VR&E students will need to get approval from their counselor before opting out.  Please have your counselor email their approval to SM8094@bncollege.com.  Same deadlines apply.

Once you opt out, you can still purchase your course materials from the bookstore either in-store or via the bookstore website at www.hpu.bncollege.com.  When shopping online make sure to choose the opt-out term when finding your books.

Students who opt-out of the program will be responsible for acquiring their required course materials.  They can do so at the Bookstore's website beginning 8/1/22.

The Shark Bundle is not a fee reported to the VA for students using Post 9/11 education benefits.  The VA pays Post 9/11 students a book & supply stipend up to $41.67 per credit, not to exceed $1,000 per year for students eligible for the 100% rate.

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.
