Han Nee Chong Ed.D.

Han Nee Chong is an Assistant Professor of Education and Instructional Designer at Hawaii Pacific University, where she also serves as Program Chair for the Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEDEL). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire, a Master of Arts in Communication from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. An experienced instructional designer, she specializes in curriculum development, assessment, and teaching in higher education, having designed multiple award-winning online courses recognized with the Blackboard Catalyst Award for Exemplary Course in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Her research explores the design, development, and use of digital technologies to enhance access, reduce cognitive load, and increase student engagement and motivation, with a growing focus on innovation and generative artificial intelligence in education. Guided by the belief that technology is most effective when purposefully integrated into instruction, she seeks to empower students to achieve meaningful learning outcomes. Han Nee teaches courses in educational leadership, instructional design, and training and development, and serves as an Academic Innovation Fellow for 2024–2025.
