Halleh Hashtpari Ph. D.

Dr. Halleh Hashtpari (they/he) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology (Clinical Psychology PsyD program core faculty) at Hawai’i Pacific University. They earned their Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah in 2022. They completed their predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Veteran Affairs, Pacific Islands Healthcare System in Honolulu, with their postdoctoral fellowship, specifically, having a systems-level LGBTQ+ health emphasis. Dr. Hashtpari has further clinical experience working with trauma-related disorders in Veteran populations, in mental health and sports performance coaching for Division I student-athletes, in psychiatric inpatient units, and in health promotion and primary care mental health integration. Their research program is largely qualitative and mixed-methods and centers identity development in queer and transgender people of color, as well as cultural dynamics and processes within psychotherapy.
