The Friends of Honolulu City Lights is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the City and County of Honolulu, through fundraising and coordination, while maintaining the quality and continuity of the annual free month-long December celebration that brings joy to local families and visitors.
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
Time: 5:30 p.m. for the opening ceremony, tree lighting at 6:00 p.m.
Electric Light Parade
Route: King Street, from River Street to Kawaiahao Street
Start Time: 6:00 p.m., with the first unit arriving at Honolulu Hale by 6:30 p.m.
Street Closures
You can bring your own food, and there will be food vendors on Punchbowl Street on Opening Night and other nights from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Parking
Free parking at the Frank F. Fasi Municipal lot on Beretania Street.
Additional parking is available in Chinatown, but plan to arrive early due to street closures.
Event Duration
Honolulu City Lights is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. through December.
Family-friendly activities continue throughout December, organized by the Friends of Honolulu City Lights
