HPU Derelict Fishing Gear (DFG) Project Manager Katie Stevens was recently featured on an episode of "Here in Hawaiʻi." Stevens discussed the types of debris that wash ashore in Hawaiʻi, and how HPU's Center for Marine Debris Research (CMDR) megaplastics work recycles nets into ashphalt and plastic lumber, and traces debris to its source.
