HPU Conducts Virtual Admitted Student Receptions (ASRs)

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, HPU refocused its plans for ASRs, shifting from in-person receptions to virtual events. The first “Live from Honolulu” receptions launched this past weekend, and more than 500 households participated from across the nation and other countries. President Gotanda, Provost Walsh, and VP of Enrollment Greg Grauman hosted the virtual events set in the Library at Waterfront, with admitted students and their families tuned in on the web. Our HPU hosts provided an in-depth view of our student-centered university and members of our ‘ohana, letting them know we were excited and ready to welcome them into our ‘ohana.

Through short videos, including this one narrated by Student Body President Elana Boise, and this one profiling Angelianne Recinto and Amanda Borjas, several HPU students shared their experiences about life at HPU and in Hawai‘i and Honolulu.

In addition to the president and provost covering a series of Frequently Asked Questions, admissions staff were on hand to answer live chat questions.
