Managers of UNIQLO came to HPU’s Waterfront Plaza location on Tuesday, Jan. 28, providing a presentation to students of the Market Research course taught by Ji Mi Park, Ph.D., and students of the Marketing Strategy course taught by Joseph Ha, Ph.D. The UNIQLO team shared with the marketing students how the corporation embeds the core concept of sustainability in its business operations. Additionally, the students learned about the UNIQLO Global Management Program (GMP), a five-day intensive business study program, which will be held in Tokyo from July 6 through 10. Students selected for the GMP program are provided with a unique opportunity to visit UNIQLO’s head offices and stores, while taking part in business sessions with market specialists, learning more about the industry and business. UNIQLO covers the participants’ flight and accommodation expenses, along with a set amount for meals during the stay.
The UNIQLO managers who visited HPU on Jan. 28 included Yuya Tanahashi, Chief Operations Officer – Hawaii, Tomoko Miura, Marketing Manager – Hawaii, Kazuya Ando, Global Human Resources representative, and Ginger Fenna, Human Resources Manager – Hawaii.
