In February, the first JCCH Craft and Collectibles Fair of 2025 will take place. Attendees can shop with local small business vendors offering Japanese and Japanese-inspired items, and enjoy complimentary admission to the Historical Gallery. The fair will also feature:
LET'S TALK...MATCHA!: Summer Shiigi, the owner of Daily Whisk Matcha, will host two talk story sessions (10:30 and 11:30 AM) in the JCCH Courtyard. Participants can learn about matcha benefits, varieties, and daily drinking techniques, and enter in-person prize giveaways. Limited products and iced drinks will be available for purchase.
JCCH POP-UP EVENT: A selection of unique handcrafted ceramics made by eight local artists will be available at Discover the Art of Handcrafted Japanese Tea Ceremony Ceramics. These items can be purchased at the JCCH Gift Shop for a limited time, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the JCCH.
JCCH FEATURED VENDOR: Author Kelly Goto will be present for a meet-and-greet and signing of her new book, “Seattle Samurai: A Cartoonist’s Perspective of the Japanese American Experience.” Attendees can learn about the legacy of her father, Sam Goto, who created over 250 multi-paneled “Seattle Tomodachi” comic strips depicting the lives and stories of early Japanese settlers and their American-born offspring. A limited number of books will be available for purchase on site.
