Ken Schoolland presents at the World Anti-Extremist Network Ceremony in Toronto.

HPU Associate Professor Ken Schoolland, M.S.F.S, recently presented at the World Anti-Extremist Network Ceremony (WAEN) in Toronto. Schoolland spoke on combating violent extremist and authoritarianism through ideas of free trade and economy in a presentation delivered on December 14, 2023.

According to their website, WAEN is a global non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a world free from violent extremism and authoritarianism. Based in Canada, WAEN actively promotes peace, pluralism, and universal freedom, working diligently to confront and eliminate various manifestations of extremism on a global scale. 

Schoolland also gave a thought-provoking presentation at Waterfront Plaza in Honolulu during a conference entitled "Analysis of the Trend of Anti-Globalization from the Perspective of Austrian Economics," which was organized by his wife Li Zhao Schoolland. The event drew together prominent scholars in economics from China and the United States, providing an esteemed platform for scholarly discourse on this pertinent subject matter. 

His exceptionally successful economics book, The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible has achieved widespread acclaim, being published in nearly 60 languages and boasting over 85 editions. To date, it stands as one of the most successful and enduring contributions to the field of economics, leaving an indelible mark on the collective memory of readers around the world.
