Why HPU for MSN-MBA?

Hawai`i Pacific University offers the joint Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration to help meet the demand for nursing business leaders with the MBA qualification, and to complement a nurse’s clinical skills with a solid foundation in management. The joint degree program focuses on skills needed by both health care and business leaders; analytical reasoning, leadership, and effective communication. The successful candidate is eligible to sit for the ANCC Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification Eligibility Criteria (Credential Awarded: NEA-BC), with 2 years recent experience in nursing administration role. All applicants must meet the admission criteria for both the MSN and MBA programs (GMAT or GRE). All applicants must have taken a statistics course (MATH 1123) and an undergraduate nursing research course (NUR 4700) or the equivalent. If the applicant does not have an educational foundation in business he/she will be required to enroll preparatory courses or their equivalents for accounting, economics and finance. All MSN/MBA students must complete core business and nursing courses (36 credits) as well as 6 credits of specified elective courses and 6 credits for the capstone project. Total degree requirement is 48 credits. This meets the need in the community for nursing business leaders with the MBA qualification Have an Associate Degree in Nursing? An applicant with an Associate Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor Degree in another field are eligible for this joint degree as an RN to MSN/MBA. These candidates complete two semesters of study, then continue on to the MSN-MBA Degree as long as the minimum 3.0 GPA is maintained.

The Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Master's degree in nursing and Post-graduate APRN certificate programs at Hawai‘i Pacific University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
