The “It Starts With Us” Sexual Assault Awareness Fair is being hosted by HPU’s Student Government Association and the Dean of Students Office in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The fair will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at our Aloha Tower Marketplace (ATM), Pier 9 Stage and will feature the following:

  • Notable guest speakers, including Honolulu’s first female Chief of Police, Susan Ballard

  • Performances by HPU students and International Vocal Ensemble
  • Performances from HPU’s #MeTooMonologues
  • And the International Men’s March, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks MEN to literally walk a mile in women’s shoes in support of sexual assault awareness. SGA challenges each male student, staff, and faculty to register and participate in this event (click here).  The walk will take place from Aloha Tower Marketplace to the top of Fort Street Mall and back! Check-in for the Walk is at 10:30 am and the Walk begins at 11:30 am. Participating students will receive a swag bag (bring your HPU student ID)! All participants will receive lunch!

Don’t worry ladies, your help is needed too!  You can register for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® as a supporter/volunteer by clicking here. General community members may also register for the WALK by clicking here.

The fair is open to the military, public, and members of the HPU community and is partially funded by the Student Activity Fee.
