GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Malia Akutagawa, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Assistant Professor of Law at the William S. Richardson School of Law and Assistant Professor of Hawaiian Studies at UHM’s Hawaiʻinuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge – Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies.

 

TOPIC: The Process of Ho‘opononpono in Native Hawaiian Resource Management Disputes

 

The event is open to all HPU Community members, especially students enrolled this semester in General Education courses focusing on Hawaii and the Pacific Curriculum Area. This event will be in a talkstory format, focusing on open interaction between the speaker and audience members, rather than a lecture-style presentation. No refreshments will be served, so please bring your own food and drink, if so desired.
