HONOLULU — Hawai‘i Pacific University advertising students competed in and secured one of the top eight national finalists spots in the semi-finals round of the 2015 National Student Advertising Competition on Tuesday, May 5. The team produced a $60 million national advertising campaign for this year’s client, Pizza Hut.
Nationwide, more than 150 universities compete in NSAC each year. Eighteen first-place district winners competed in the semi-finals round. But only the top eight qualify for the nationals, the final round of the competition. HPU’s NSAC Team was victorious in the semi-finals competition, beating out some well-known universities including University of California-Los Angeles, University of Miami, Brigham Young University and Columbia College of Chicago.
The final round of the NSAC competition is held in conjunction with the annual AAF ADMERICA National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 10-13, 2015. The national judges’ panel will consider and rank the 27-page plans book, 20-minute presentation and assess the 10-minute Q&A session of each presenting team to determine the rankings. First through third place winners earn cash prizes for their respective schools and will be recognized at the 2015 NSAC awards luncheon.
