Pipeline announcement - roundtable
You are invited to a faculty roundtable facilitated by Alfred J. Andrea, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at the University of Vermont.
THE SILK ROAD: 5,000 miles and 1500 Years of Adventure
Using power-point slides, Dr. Andrea will trace the history of the Silk Road from roughly 150 BCE to about 1350 CE.
Dr. Andrea is Professor Emeritus of Medieval History at the University of Vermont (at UVM since 1967). His special areas of expertise include the Medieval Mediterranean; Comparative Religions; the Crusades; Byzantium and the West; the Silk Road.
His latest research on the Silk Road includes field studies in done in the summer for the past six years in China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Mongolia
He is currently working on a book project entitled The Crusades in World History.
This presentation is scheduled for Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the International Center Conference Room, 11th floor UB (Finance Factors) Building.
