Housing Information for International Students
Honolulu is one of the most desirable cities to live in and one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Because of this, the housing market is very tight both on and off campus. We encourage you to secure housing as soon as possible.
Residence Halls (On-Campus)
Hawai'i Pacific University offers residence halls on the windward Hawai'i Loa campus for students who enroll for both fall and spring semesters. On-Campus housing (rooms are shared by two or three students) is generally enjoyed by students in their first year of study.
On-Campus housing includes room and board (14 meals per week).
For more information, visit HPU's On Campus Residence Halls, or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hawaii Student Housing (Off-Campus, Non-University Sponsored)
Many students choose to find their own apartments and off-campus housing either before they arrive in Hawaii, or after they arrive and have had a chance to become familiar with the local environment. The island of Oahu offers many different living arrangements - from the fast-paced city lifestyle of Honolulu (close to the Downtown Campus) to the quiet beach town of Kailua (near the windward Hawaii Loa Campus).
Hawaii Student Housing is available to assist you if you need information about off-campus housing options and/or prefer to arrange your own accommodations. If you are unfamiliar with the Honolulu area, our staff can provide information on what is available in the rental market and provide general advice about residential areas.
Other recommended online sources to find rentals include:
eAds - Find housing via Pipeline, HPU's Intranet, by visiting: https://campus.hpu.edu. Your initial login requires your HPU student ID and your date of birth. Look for "@HPU," where you will find eAds, HPU's electronic bulletin board, that offers many rental options.
Craigslist - is a popular Web site with affordable housing options: http://honolulu.craigslist.org
Other Advertisement in Local Newspapers:
Please note that HPU does not specifically endorse or inspect any of the rental units or locations listed in these web pages, and HPU does not directly rent any units.
After you arrive, you may also visit the HPU downtown Housing Service Center. Our staff will provide general advice about residential areas as well as information regarding the rental market.
Off-Campus Meal Plan (OCMP)
A private company, Off Campus Meal Plan (OCMP), is working with local restaurants to offer HPU students a flexible and convenient meal plan—one that can be used at many restaurants on the island of Oahu
