HPU Students Bound for National Advertising Competition

HONOLULU — A team of Hawai‘i Pacific University students recently won an advertising competition and will represent Hawai‘i in a national contest.
HPU won the American Advertising Federation District 13 National Student Advertising Competition, sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, April 28. The winning team, known as Akamai Advertising, heads to the federation’s national finals June 3 and 4 in Austin, Texas.
The HPU team developed a 32-page marketing campaign and 20-minute presentation in response to a case study about the Nissan brand as it relates to multicultural audiences.
Members of the team include HPU students Meaghan Blackburn, Orion Brutoco, Eun Jung Choi, Courtney Curran, Joanna Georgiev, Avery Kremer, Kim Kuehnert, Dany Malley, Lei Navasca, Thomas Obungen, Taylor Perry and Nina Terjesen. AnnMarie Manzulli of the Department of Communication is faculty advisor.
